The Rev. John-Marie Charles-Roux, I.C. (b. Dec. 12, 1914) served in the French diplomatic corps as a chargé d’affaires before his calling to the Catholic priesthood at the age of 40. In 2003, Father Charles-Roux traveled daily to the set of Mel Gibsonâs film, The Passion of the Christ, to celebrate Mass in the Tridentine Rite for Gibson and other members of the film crew.Father Charles Roux remains active and is in residence at the Institute of Charityâs headquarters at Porta Latina in Rome.
